Document 22: "Donít Forget the Women When You Vote on Tuesday," Denver Republican (5 November 1893), p. 1.

Introduction

In addition to using leaflets, both sides in the struggle over equal suffrage in Colorado used political cartoons to convey their message. This pro-suffrage cartoon, published just two days before the referendum on woman suffrage, illustrates the argument based on equality, that is, that women deserve the right to vote because they are equal citizens with men.
