Document 7B: "Summary of Resolutions Adopted By State Meetings," in National Commission on the Observance of International Women's Year, The Spirit of Houston: The First National Women's Conference (Washington, D.C.: U.S. Government Printing Office, 1978), p. 117.
Introduction
In addition to the 16 core resolutions debated at each state and territory meeting (see Document 7A), women and men who attended the meetings suggested another 4,500 resolutions representing issues of concern to women around the nation. Document 7 categorizes these resolutions and tabulates the voting results from each of these meetings. This table also identifies the issues that state and territory meetings requested be the subject of workshops at the November conference in Houston. The NCOIWY considered all 4,500 proposed resolutions as it compiled the agenda for the NWC in Houston.[58]
